this is going to be a long post. a very long one. so stop reading now if you want. a lot has happened in the past month.
life in h-town interesting and hurricane-filled. if you're not spending every morning down at the astrodome feeding hurricane katrina survivors at 4 am then you're on the road trying to run from hurricane rita. i'm just glad those are over and that things are starting to get somewhat close to normal. i stayed in houston. nothing happened. we didn't even get any rain. it was positively the most boring four days of my life. but i did find out that good ol pier one imports is giving me 40 hours of pay for doing nothing. thanks rita. i am not thanking rita however for the 2.89 i paid for gas. and even though i did not evacuate that has to be the weirdest thing i have ever seen. it was very apocolyptic. i have no idea if i spelled that right.
in my week off from work i did have one exciting thing. desperate housewives. second season started. great. also bought the first season on dvd. amanda and i watched hours on end and drank starbucks. good times. i also decided to start a book club. i want it to start soon. i think its gonna be my sad movie night filler. so if you're in houston and want to be in my book club let me know. its gonna be once a month. i would like to have our first meeting late october. i also need some book club suggestions.
life living at home not too bad. work kinda wierd. its strange to work at the same place you have for over two years and do the same things but with totally different people in a totally different city. i also work with lots of highschoolers. thats patience testing. i like to fill my time with routine meetings and things of the sort. bible study. workout schedule. started weight watchers. have lost 8 pounds. go me. joined the singles group at church. have yet to form an opinion on that one. i definitely do know that i hate the term 'singles group' though. make the routine trip to starbucks. its no caribou but its growing on me. a guy that works there brought me my fav drink to pier one one day when he was on his break. i guess i am getting in with the baristas. we have moved. i love the new house. love the houston shopping. there are some fabulous places in this town. traffic sucks.
things to get excited about. wicked tickets in november. rent and harry potter coming out. going to see the bro in lubbock. thanksgiving and christmas coming around, not excited about pier one already getting ornaments. a cold front supposed to hit thursday, cold being 85 instead of 101. trying to find a new job. going to columbus in december. grad school- well kinda. road trip to the grand canyon. ohio state football games. dvr. book club, even if its just amanda and i.
if i have ignored you, sorry. life has been chaotic. moving, hurricanes, no internet, no cell phone service takes a toll on the communication but i promise i have not forgotten anyone. i miss columbus. definitely have not had anytime to mourn it. i am sure it will come and it will be sad. i definitely love hearing from people even if i don't return your call. okay thats about it. i am going to be better at updating this thing. i will also put up pics.
